Geraldine P. VanDerVeer

Geraldine P. VanDerVeer, 82, passed away Monday on her birthday, September 3 at the Well's House in Johnstown where she was a resident for 2 months with her loving family at her bed side. Prior to her stay at Well's House she was a resident of the Getman Home in Gloversville for four years. Geraldine lived most of her life in Glen. NY. Born September 3, 1930 in Lyndonville, Vermont she was the daughter of the late Earl and Winifred Rash Davis. She was a graduate of a Vermont High School and she moved to the Glen area in her 20's. Geraldine was employed as an office manager of the Anderson Instrument Company in Glen retiring many years ago. She was a member of the Glen Reformed Church and the Eastern Star of Fultonville. Geraldine enjoyed spending time at her camp in Northampton, NY. She also enjoyed boating and having parties with her friends and family. Survivors include two sons, Danny L. VanDerVeer of Fort Hunter and William N. VanDerVeer of Glen; a brother Earl Davis and his wife Helena of New Mexico; three grandchildren, Sean VanDerVeer of Fort Hunter, Katlyn VanDerVeer of Fonda and Rita VanDerVeer of Northville; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by her brother Ralph Davis. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 7 PM at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY. Interment of her cremated remains will take place in Maple Avenue Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
