The funeral mass will be held Monday, June 16th for Gertrude Anne ‘Trudi” Wingerd, who left us in her sleep on June 6, 2014, at the age of 72.Trudi was born October 15, 1941 in Alamosa, Colorado, to Charles & Agnes Hurst. She was the baby of the family and followed siblings Charles F. Hurst, John D. Hurst, Margaret M Albright & David Hurst who preceded her in death.Trudi attended Mt. San Antonio JC in Los Angeles, Where she received an associates in arts degree in 1962 and where she met her husband, Mervyn.She married Mervyn L. Wingerd on June 22, 1963 and had two children, Brian and Bridget.In 1970 she started work for the phone company in California. She transferred and moved to Oregon in 1977. She worked as an operator and then as an Engineer Clerk and retired in 1995 after working for 25 years.She enjoyed Nascar and ‘Jimmy Johnson,’ solving crossword puzzles, reading, collecting owls, hummingbirds, music boxes and kaleidoscopes. She recently enjoyed an afternoon with her great grandson and daughter Bridget talking about the music boxes and kaleidoscopes and showing them the magic of it.Survivors include her husband, her son Brian L. Wingerd, Bend, OR., daughter Bridget Heineman, Eugene, OR, 6 grandchilden and 8 great-grandchildren.Monday’s services will be held at 11:00 AM at St. Mark Catholic Church in Eugene. A reception will follow services and Burial will follow the reception at Oakhill Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be to St. Mark Catholic Church or Green Hill Humane Society.Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary.
