June 28th, 1928 - April 12th, 2012
Born in Tacoma on June 28, 1928; passed away after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family on April 12, 2012. Proceeded in death by her parents Louis and Rose Riconosciuto, sister Teresa Burke and brother Marshall Riconosciuto, and granddaughter Lisa Viafore; and many other dear family and friends. Survived by her husband Ron Russo; her siblings Mary Bradford, Elvira Manley, and Jim Riconosciuto; her children Deborah (Jack Hurley) and Bonnie (Bruce Viafore); her grandchildren Joseph (Kelli Hurley), Brian (Sarah Viafore), Rose Hurley, Jill (Brent Jordan), and April Viafore (Sean Nagel); and Great Grandchildren Annie and Zach Jordan, Gideon Hurley, Luke and Jackson Viafore. Gloria and Ron would have celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary on April 23rd. They traveled the world together and shared many good times and memories with family and friends. Gloria enjoyed entertaining, bowling, golf, and had a marvelous green thumb. She never forgot a birthday and was very generous to those she cared for. She attended St. Leo’s Catholic School and was a lifetime member of St. Rita’s Church. At her request no funeral service will be held but a memorial Mass on her birthday will be said at St. Rita’s Catholic Church with a reception following.
