Harold Gene Napier

Harold “Gene” Napier, 87, passed away peacefully at home on May 5, 2023. Gene served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He completed a Bachelor of Science in engineering from the University of San Francisco. Gene worked for NASA as a supervising engineer for ground operations on the Space Shuttle missions for many years. Upon retirement from NASA he worked for contractors where he wrote and supervised government contracts. Gene loved music. He learned to play the guitar as an adult and for much of his life he sang in his local church choir. Gene enjoyed giving back to the community, and served as a volunteer at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Ellen Sue Napier; his daughters, Vicki Merkle, and Donna Gallo; grandchildren, Francesco, Nicholas, Jennifer, and Ryan, great-grandchildren Jack, Samuel, Matthew, Luca, Millie and Kingsley, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
