Helen Marie Snyder
March 18th, 1930 - February 29th, 2024
Helen Marie (Grogan) Snyder, 93 of Chico, CA, went home to be with her Savior on Thursday, February 29, 2024, in Enloe Hospital, while her loving family was by her side. She was born March 18, 1930, in Grogan, Missouri, to Fred Franklin Grogan and Mary Johnny (Gribas) Grogan. After growing up in Missouri she moved to Los Angeles, CA, where she met her husband Richard (Dick) Snyder, Jr. In 1956, the couple moved to Chico with their young son Doug, where Dick worked for United Parcel Service and Helen worked for Safeway. When her son Richard was born in 1960, Helen left Safeway so she could be a full-time mother to her two boys. She loved her time with friends and family and enjoyed teaching her granddaughters to cook. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and most any other craft she attempted. Helen had a servant’s heart and a contagious sense of humor. Her sweet demeanor will be greatly missed by her many friends, and family. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Chico, where she served and attended faithfully for over 40 years. Helen raised her children in church, setting an example that is currently being passed down to the fourth generation of her descendants. Helen is survived by her two sons, Doug, and Richard (Robin) of Chico; five grandchildren, Garry (Amber), Sherry, Ashley (Colby), Deanna and Lorissa; seven great-grandchildren, Domanik, Douglas, Riley, Braxton, Brendon, Brylee, and Theo; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Dick; an infant son; her parents; three sisters, Ruby Surby, Ruth Cooper, and Anna Mae Kitchens; and three brothers, Tom Grogan, Don Grogan, and Arthur Grogan.
