Henry Lester Hall

Henry Lester Hall, 91, of Lexington, husband of Viola Sarah Hall, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016. He was born on March 7, 1925 in Gilbert, SC to the late Clyde Hall and Cleo Corder Hall. In his early years, he lived in Gilbert, SC. He served in United States Army, during WWII as a MP and a Med Tech. Henry and his wife, Viola traveled as he worked as a brick mason until the birth of their first child. The remainder of his years was lived in Lexington, where he was an active member at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church and Oak Grove Civics Club. He served as Committee Chairman of Boy Scout Troop 340. After retiring from Allied Chemical, he enjoyed working with the maintenance crew for the State Fair and volunteering with the Hen House Ministries. In addition to his wife of 68 years; he is survived by his children, Sharon (Jody) Taylor, Keith (Leah) Hall, and Roger (Vickie) Hall; six grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn White; and two brothers, Jacob B. Hall and Donald Hall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lewie Hall. The family will receive friends from 1pm until 2:45pm on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow the visitation in the church at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church, 3050 Leaphart Road, West Columbia, SC 29169.
