Mr. Ira 'Max' Snow, 67 of McLeansville passed away Monday May 18, 2009 at his residence following an illness. Max was born in Guilford County on May 23, 1941 the son of Ira Casper and Dorothy Whitley Snow. He was a USMC veteran serving from 1959-1963 and served as a Military Policeman at Parris Island, SC. Max also served as a Greensboro Police Officer until he retired after 27 years. Upon his retirement he worked as a police officer with GTCC. Surviving are his wife Carolyn Gibbs Snow of the home; 2 daughters Cindy Edwards (David) of Greensboro and Tammy Snow of McLeansville; 2 sons James H. Snow (Kimberly) of Greensboro and Clay Gooch of the home; one brother James Avery Snow of Thomasville; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday in the chapel of Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home by Pastor Daryl Law. Burial will be in Reidlawn Cemetery in Reidsville. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro 2500 Summit Avenue Greensboro, NC 27405.
