September 7th, 1923 - June 20th, 2014
Irene Huerena Gallegos, Age 90, born September 7, 1923 in Soham, New Mexico and went home to be with Jesus on June 20, 2014. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Our Mother was a very caring woman that was selfless and nonjudgmental – welcomed everyone in her home with a smile and a meal. She was the epitome of unconditional love. Irene served in the United States Woman's Army Corp (WAC) from 1942 until 1946. She was preceded in death by her oldest son Leo Gallegos, infant daughter Julianta Gallegos, and grandson Charlie Gallegos. She will be missed, but not forgotten. Services on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Holy Rosary Church at 11:00 am (5415 Fortuna Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM) with burial services at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico at 3:00 pm. Arrangements entrusted to Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo NE, (505) 764-9663.
