Isabel Howard Sampson, "Sammie", 90, of Seminole, passed away on March 13, 2016 at the Palm Gardens of Largo in Largo, FL. She was born on June 12, 1925 to Richard and Emma (Howard) Sampson in Clifton Forge, VA. She graduated high school in 1942 and attended Farmville State Teachers College, Richmond Professional Institute, College of William & Mary for one year of drama. She received a B.R.E. degree from Presbyterian School of Christian Education 49'-51', her Master's degree in Religious Education 69'-71' from Wesley Theological Seminary Washington D.C., she served churches in Baltimore, MD; Amarillo, TX, Riviera Methodist Church St. Petersburg, FL, Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church Clearwater, FL, and Covenant Presbyterian Church Austin, TX. She was Commissioned as a Commissioned Educator in May 24, 1972, installed as Minister of Education April 23, 1972, Covenant Presbyterian Church Austin, TX 89'-91. She was an Elder at Christ Presbyterian Church, a teacher, Stephen Minister leader, VBS leader/teacher, Presbytery Christian Education Moderator- leader/teacher in Presbytery. Presented award for Life Achievement in February 2002 in Toronto Canada. Isabel worked as a Director of Christian Education in the Presbyterian Church and retired in 1980. She moved to Seminole in 1980 and volunteered for Hospice for 35 years. The Tampa Bay Christian Educators Fellowship awarded her gifts for her many achievements and Hospice published an article about her life. Isabel is survived by her life long friend, Margaret Adell Dunn, a co-teacher and leader of the Stephen Ministry Program. They both were on the Presbytery Educational Ministry in St. Petersburg, FL. "Thanks be to God for a wonderful life!"
