Obituary James J.C. Lay, 82, of Lexington, died Saturday, June 26, 2010. He was born in Casey County, Kentucky, January 20, 1928, to the late Colonel and Gertrude Combest Lay. He was a Radio Specialist for the Lexington Army Depot. Mr. Lay was a Veteran of the United States Army and an avid Hamm Radio Operator. He worked in the Eglin Air Force Base for 2 years and at the Civil Defense Center in Dayton, Ohio. He is survived by his daughter, Dixie (Steve) Jones, Versailles; son, Ronnie (Jerri Ann) Lay, Lexington; his grandchildren, Brian Jones and Jamie Lay; and his great grandchildren, Kailey Lay and Reagan Lay. Mr. Lay was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Patricia Ann Maynus Lay. Funeral Information Visitation will be 4:30-6:30 pm, Tuesday, June 29 at Clark Legacy Center. Funeral service will follow at 6:30 pm, with Rev. Doug Simpson officiating. Burial will take place 10 am, Wednesday, at Crestlawn Cemetery. Casketbearers: Brian Jones, Robbie Simpson, Jonathan Price, Philip Jones, Ronnie Lay, and Steve Jones.
