James H. Wilson, Jr., age 52, of Port Charlotte, died on March 15, 2014. He was born in South Carolina on June 4, 1961. James and his wife Jennifer formerly of Maine, have been enjoying Florida winters for the past few years. As a Navy veteran, he enjoyed serving on submarines and chumming with officers while piloting launch craft. James worked as a project manager and consultant, traveling all over the United States, Canada and even Ireland. James was passionate about all things golf related, particularly playing with his golf buddies at Willowdale in Scarborough, Maine. He loved the ocean and treasured the time he spent with Jen. One of his other favorite pastimes was cooking. He could make a meal out of anything without using a recipe. He loved Thanksgiving when he could partner with his brother-in-law Brad to prepare a memorable feast. When James wasn't involved in one of these activities, he could usually be found at a Starbucks enjoying his favorite cup of joe. He was a devoted dad and loved playing with his grandson Landyn. Surviving family members include his wife, Jennifer of Port Charlotte; daughter Ariana Andrews-Wilson of Maine; stepson Matthew Inman of Punta Gorda; stepdaughter Kayla Inman and grandson Landyn York of Maine; mother Catherine Wilson and sisters Cathy O'Hagan and Melissa Wilson all of Georgia; his in-laws, the Whites of Florida and his extended family in Maine. He was preceded in death by his father James H. Wilson, Sr. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 19th a1 1 PM at Restoration Fellowship in Sarasota.
