Jan graduated from Puyallup High School and went on to attend Northwest University in Kirkland, WA. She also graduated from Bates Vocational School as a Dental Assistant. On January 30, 1976, she married Tim Crippen and together they raised two sons. Jan was a member of Sound Life Church for many years, where she was active in music ministry. Music was her life.
