Jared Scott Dockery, 32, of Gate City went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 16, 2020. Jared was born on December 6, 1987 in Kingsport. He was a 2006 graduate from Gate City High School. He was a devoted Dada to his children and a loving Unc to his nephews. Jared is preceded in death by his grandfathers, L.G. (Buck) Arnold and Jimmy Dockery; aunts, Anita and Trula Arnold; uncle who was like a papaw, Emory Arnold; brother by heart, Justin Osborne; several uncles, aunts, and family. Those left to cherish his memory are his hearts, Willow Sage and Braxton Wade; mother, Pam Arnold Dockery; father, Stevie Dockery; sister and brother-in-law, Jasmine and Andrew Bailey; mamaw, Alice “Red” Arnold; nephews, Dillan, Dawson, Luke and Charlie whom he loved with his whole heart; special family, Julia Arnold, Dwain, Mara, Owen, Lily, Lori, Emma, Randy, Kathy, Sarah, Eric, Hope, Jack, and Seth; aunts, Michelle Lawson and Sharon McMurray; uncle, Greg Dockery; great aunts, Lou Sloan, Linda Henry, and Opal Henry; along with several cousins and friends. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 20, 2020 from 12 PM to 2 PM at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Jeff DeBoard officiating. A graveside service will follow the funeral at Hurd Cemetery. Pallbearers will be AJ Neeley, Jonathan Berry, Charlie Oaks, Steve Jones, Travis Osborne, Bodie Napier, Daniel Hoff, and Thomas D.
