Jenny Louise Detz

DETZ, Jenny L. Hitchens returned to the Lord’s house on Friday, March 1, 2013 after a seven year battle with breast cancer. Jenny was a graduate of Cape Fear Community College School of Nursing in Wilmington, NC and was formerly an Oncology Nurse at NHRMC in Wilmington, NC. Jenny enjoyed volunteering with the Wesley Chapel High School Band. Jen’s favorite sayings were “Fight Like A Girl” and “Save Second Base”. Through all the treatments, she held onto her faith, hopes and sense of humor. Jenny was loved by many and will be missed by all. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Michael Detz and their four children, Natria, Jordan, Ryan and Kristen all from Wesley Chapel, FL; her parents, Dean and Debbie Hitchens, two brothers, Billy Hitchens and Daniel Gottleber; sister, Heather Hitchens; grandparents, Charles and Donna Campbell and Charles Hitchens and the late, Josephine Hitchens. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Loyless Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
