Joan Piccione

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Joan Marie Piccione on February 6, 2023. Joan was born on May 23, 1946, in Newark, New Jersey and attended Archbishop Walsh High School. Joan moved to Hilton Head Island in 1994 with her family and quickly made the island her new home. Joan had a passion for life and was loved by all who knew her. She lived each day with love, laughter, and compassion. She was a devoted mother who dedicated her life to her four kids, more generally known as her ducks. Joan had a kind heart and was always willing to support those around her. She had a talent for entertaining and always made sure that memories were being created by all. Joan's infectious laugh and warm smile will be deeply missed. Joan is survived by her husband of 48 years, Sam Piccione Jr., her sons Sam Piccione III, Scot Piccione, and Jonathan Piccione (fiancée Brittany Collins), her daughter Gianna Negretti (Jonathan Negretti), her sister-in-law Kathleen Brodzicki (Michael Brodzicki) as well as many other loved ones. She will forever be remembered for her hugs. A celebration of Joan's life will be held later, where friends and family can gather to share their fondest memories and pay their final respects. May she rest in peace, and may her memory live on in the hearts of all of those whom she encountered. Live. Laugh. Love.
