John Heyen
December 5th, 1923 - May 9th, 2009
John H. Heyen, 85, of Arvada, died Saturday, May 9, 2009. Born in Gillespie, IL, John later joined the US Marine Corps and served proudly from 1942 to 1945. After returning home from active duty, John moved to Colorado in 1950 when he helped his sister and her family transfer to Wheat Ridge for medical reasons. John continued his career as a skilled craftsman, and joined the Coors Container Company in 1962, where he eventually retired in 1982. John loved spending time with family and friends, riding his motorcycle, and spending time in the Colorado mountains. John is survived by his loving wife Irene Heyen, daughter Debra Bohks of Golden, brother Henry Heyen of Gillespie, IL, and countless other relatives and friends. John’s wish was to be cremated, and his ashes spread in the mountains he loved so dearly. He was loved and will be missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Exempla Lutheran Hospice at Collier Hospice Center at 3210 Lutheran Parkway, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.
