John Jenks
January 22nd, 1942 - March 30th, 2012
Jack went home to join God and His angels after a 13 year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Jack was born in Rahway, NJ and moved to Denver when he was 2 years old. He was in the first graduating class at Cherry Creek High School and drove a school bus for Cherry Creek Schools briefly. Jack was a decorated veteran of The United States Navy following a four year enlistment. He was stationed in Honolulu and received an Honorable Discharge as well as a medal of good conduct. Jack had a 42 year career at United Airlines working customer service & baggage claim, and one month after he retired from United was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. Jack loved to garden. He had a green thumb and could grow anything from beautiful roses & flowers to any kind of vegetable. He loved to be outdoors. We have many memories of Jack on family vacations to Maui and Cancun, Mexico. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Dorthea “Dotie” and John Jenks. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Marcia Jenks; his children, Julie Gittins (Kirk), John Jenks (Jennifer), Courtney “Maggie” Jenks, and Jeremy “Robbie” Jenks; his grandchildren, Skyler Joseph Clerkin, Kathy Jenks, Jennifer Jenks & John Jenks, with another on the way; and four great-grandchildren. Jack is also survived by his aunt, Dottie Tarno of Fredricksburg, VA, and countless other friends and relatives. We deeply love Jack and we know that he is finally at peace, body and mind made whole again in Heaven. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jenks Trust Account at Chase Bank.
