John Patrick Klinger, age 48, passed away on Saturday, March 19th, 2011 of an apparent heart attack. He was born in San Mateo, California on September 14, 1962, the son of Robert Klinger and Catherine Christensen. He grew up in the San Francisco Bay area as well as Lake Tahoe and Carson City, Nevada. He graduated in 1980 from Homestead High School in Sunnyvale, California. In the last few years of his life, he worked as a realtor in Rocky Point, Mexico where he made many new friends and connections; and also began organizing and running tours to various locations such as Rocky Point, Albuquerque, and Canyon Lake. John enjoyed travel with his journeys taking him to many places including Hawaii and New York, and just about everywhere in-between; Vancouver and Alberta, Canada; and Acapulco and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. He loved spending time outdoors doing activities like hiking, camping, skiing, and long walks on the beaches of Rocky Point. He loved his large family and extensive network of friends. John is survived by his loving life partner of 19 years, George Vissichelli; a daughter Jennifer, son in-law Ian Roberts, and two grandchildren, Gillian and Ryan; sons John and Daniel Klinger; mother Catherine Christensen; sister Kathy Klinger and her partner Sandi Talbot; brothers Tom, James and Mark Klinger; a step sister Monique and her husband Greg Giron; step brothers Erik and Lou Christensen, and Lou’s wife Mary Ann; nephews Christopher, Justin, and Michael Klinger, Troy Christensen, and Noah Giron; nieces Monica and Melissa Klinger; and great-nieces Audrey, Madison and Morgan May Klinger.
