John Theodore Smith

Obituary John Theodore Smith (Jack, Smitty) was born March 20, 1932 in Millersburg, Ohio to Theodore and Nellie Smith. Jack passed away August 6, 2015 after succumbing to cancer and Alzheimers. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1974. While in the service, Jack traveled the world. He was stationed in Germany, Greenland, Turkey, and several stateside bases. Jack met Marie (Hurtado) while stationed in Albuquerque, NM. The couple married and moved to Colorado Springs where they raised their two children, Annette and Richard. After several remote tours, Jack retired in the Springs. He flourished as a member of the Local 62 Theatre Union and was actively involved with various theatrical companies and movie theatres. He is survived by his wife, Marie Smith; daughter Annette Cleaveland and her husband Terry; as well as six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The family wants to thank Laurel Manor Care Center and Optum Hospice for loving and taking of Jack during this last year. The Celebration of Life will take place at 10:00am Saturday August 15th, 2015 at Awakening Church, 3445 Oro Blanco Drive.
