Johnny Ortiz

Johnny William Ortiz of Salinas, Ca. passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021, at the age of 77. After several months of declining health. Johnny was born on June 16, 1944, in Salinas, Ca. to Louis Acosta (Norma Layos) and Evelyn Ortiz. Johnny was a lifelong resident of Salinas who loved his family immensely. Those who knew Johnny knew he was a diehard Raider fan who loved family poker games, listening to oldies, dancing with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He loved playing jokes on people just to see their reactions and when you asked him how he was feeling he would likely reply with “with my fingers”. He was a great man, a man you could look up to, he was loyal, funny, strong, hardworking, and loving. His presence, laughter, and Love will be greatly missed but his memories will stay with us forever. He is survived by his wife Patricia, daughters, Patricia, Naomi, Vicki, Priscilla, Jessica, 19 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his son, Johnny James Ortiz. A viewing will take place for Johnny at Healey Mortuary Chapel on Friday, September 17th from 2-6pm. A Rosary service will be at 3pm with a Chapel Blessing at 3:30pm on Friday, as well.
