Joyce L. Rummerfield
July 19th, 1956 - December 8th, 2018
Joyce Louise Rummerfield, 62, of West Point, CA, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 8, 2018. Lifetime resident of Calaveras County, she was born in San Andreas, CA on July 19, 1956 to the late Frances L. (Jeff) and James D. Grow. Joyce was a beautiful example of love and compassion. She was a traditional Miwok dancer and gatherer who was often found picking acorns and making nupa for her elders. She made magic with her hands in the form of beading, basket-making, gardening, writing poetry, and cooking fry bread, lokiyah, and tuthias. Joyce was hospitable and warm, and her contributions to the Lean on Me and Echo support groups will never be forgotten. Her greatest achievements in her life were the love and devotion of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Spending time with her family was her greatest passion, and her family and friends amounted to a million stars in the sky. Her powerful voice and motherly nature made everyone feel at home, and she treated everyone equally in the amount of love she had to share. Joyce is survived by her three daughters, Mandy Maisenbach, Bonnie Williams, and Erika Rummerfield; two sons, Silas Parker and Eric Rummerfield, Jr.; husband, Eric Rummerfield, Sr.; boyfriend, Daniel Sandoval; grandchildren, Kayla, Ki, Komay, Shaina, Timothy, Olivia, Tommy Hawk, Andrew, Aumi, AJ, and Jacob; and great-granddaughter, Ewti Eva. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at West Point Cemetery in West Point, CA.
