Long-time Colorado Springs resident Keith H. Schooley, 82, died September 9th, 2013 at his home with his family by his side. Mr. Schooley was born October 15, 1930 in Hugo, CO to Anderson and Lucille Schooley. Keith graduated from the Colorado Springs High School in 1948, and his early employment history included working for the Midland Railroad at the historical Roundhouse.Mr. Schooley served in the United States Air Force, earning the Good Conduct and National Defense Service Medals. Keith worked the majority of his career as a manager for Farmers Insurance Group until his retirement in 1992. Keith's interests included Camping, Hunting, Target Shooting, Fishing, Bowling, "Back Yard Mechanic", Motorcycle Trail Riding, "Jack of all Trades", and his family including 6 sons and 5 daughters. His memory will be cherished by his loving wife of 53 years, Joanne Schooley; daughter Deanne Haus (Mark Moore) of San Antonio, TX; son Don Schooley; son Kent Schooley and daughter Roxanne (Vern) Heeney of Colorado Springs; daughter Jann (Lance) Dean of Kent, WA; daughter Kim (Charlie) Jordon of Arlington, TX; son Kevin Schooley of Colorado Springs; daughter Joy (Robert) Cowles of Fort Collins, CO; son Keith (Tammy) Schooley and son Kirk (Melissa) Schooley of London, KY; son Kyle Schooley of Colorado Springs; 25 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister Helen Bookman of Colorado Springs; sister Doris Hood of Salem, IN; and multiple nieces, nephews, and friends. Keith was preceded in death by his grandson Joshua Heeney and his great-grandson Cameron Barshay.Visitation will be held from 6:30PM – 8:30PM, Wednesday, September 11th 2013 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue.Funeral Service will be held at 10AM, Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Radiant Church, 4020 Maizeland Road followed by a graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S.
