Obituary Kenneth Taylor McRae, age 76 years, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2022. He was born in Hays, KS on June 12, 1945, to Opal and Taylor McRae. He attended Plainview Highschool. In 1965, Ken joined the US Air Force and was stationed in Vietnam as a weather observer. He served his country until May 1969. Ken graduated from Mid America with a bachelors degree and later obtained a teaching degree at the University of Colorado. From 1977-2002, he taught Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade in Harrison School District 2. He was a man who loved God deeply and lived each day trying to serve Him completely. Ken had many hobbies including camping, backpacking, woodworking, reading, reloading ammunition, and participating in muzzle loader, black powder rifle, and high power rifle shoots. Ken will be remembered for how he lived life to the full, reveling in time with his family and friends. Ken is survived by his sister, Michelle (Don) Barta; daughter, Shannon (Dan) Rundio; sons, Sean (Olive) and Neil (Jill) and many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Debbie McRae. Family, friends, and others whose lives Ken touched are invited to reminisce with the family during a visitation on April 2nd, 2022, from 2:00-3:00pm, followed by a memorial service at 3:00pm. Both are to be held at Cappadona Funeral Home in Colorado Springs. Full Military Honors will take place at Pikes Peak National Cemetery on April 8th, 2022 (time of ceremony to follow in the coming days).
