Kevin John Shanley
October 17th, 1956 - January 30th, 2014
Kevin John Shanley, of Olivehurst CA, passed away unexpectedly at home on January 30, 2014. Kevin was born in Wyandotte, MI on October 17, 1956 to Jim and Joyce (Grigsby) Banwell. He had a long career in the hospitality business, starting as a cook and most recently, attending classes in hospitality management at American River Community College. An author and songwriter, Kevin could play the drums, harmonica and guitar. He always spoke the truth as he saw it. He was predeceased by Jim Banwell, Joyce (Grigsby) Shanley and his younger brother Tim Shanley. He was also predeceased by his first wife, Mary (Van Dyke) Shanley. He is survived by his father Wilford "Bud" Shanley, a brother Robin (Helene) Shanley, and his sisters Melanie (Pete) Zenor-Kelleher, and Siiri Beth (Patrick) Avery. His uncles, aunts and cousins, nieces and nephews will mourn his passing. The happiness Kevin found in his life is due in no small part to his beloved wife, Sandra Dees, who will miss him terribly. He also leaves behind a cat, Fritz and a dog, Shotze. Services are pending with Greenwood Cemetery in Petoskey, MI 49770. "Always, no sometimes, I think it's me.
