Larry Jean Dennis
October 10th, 1962 - May 21st, 2018
Larry Jean Dennis began his incredible life adventure on October 10th, 1962. Although the adventure ended far too quickly, Larry passed on May 21st, 2018. Larry was born adjacent the pink sanded beaches of Bermuda and spent parts of his childhood living in places such as Puerto Rico and eventually landing in the Yuba Sutter Area in 1970. Larry was a 1980 graduate of Lindhurst High School and following his graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. In 1981, Larry married his high school sweetheart Robin and following their wedding, Larry was assigned to Edwards AFB in Lancaster, CA. Larry's time spent in the air force propelled a lifetime career and helped prepare him for various positions working on aircraft such as the F-15, the Global Hawk, KC 135 and an impressive list of others. Larry had 38 years of time invested in both aviation and the federal government. The skill set he attained and put forth every day was something to be admired. Larry's spunk for life and charismatic personality made him the perfect fit for coaching. In his free time he helped facilitate the growth of youth through pop warner football and wrestling. Larry had a deep commitment to the youth of this area as well as their success. This was just one of his many passions. Larry was a man that could not be limited, was always looking for a new adventure, could do anything he set his mind to and his passions were not only vast but also impressive. Over the course of his life he enjoyed being a private pilot, racing moto-cross, working on race cars, and he loved anything that could challenge him mechanically. Larry also loved trying to catch the biggest fish, camping, being outdoors to soak up the beauty of the world, and above anything else spending time with his wife and kids was always a top priority and his happy place. Larry was more than just a good human being. He was the type of person we should all strive to be like. He was always equipped with endless dad jokes, had a laugh that would illuminate a room, and was such a selfless hard worker that you often wondered how one person could have such a big heart that unconditionally provided for others. Larry was always striving to work to be better and life was full of unlimited opportunities in his eyes. Author Mandy Hale once said, "There is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to make life beautiful for others." Larry was the epitome of this quote and he constantly made sure life was beautiful for others. Those who had the pleasure of having a relationship with him will be eternally grateful for his ability to do this and enrich countless lives. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Robin Dennis; son, Scott Dennis (Chelsey Odekirk); daughter, Ashley Trower (Doug Trower); and two grandchildren, Jackson Dale Dennis and Sydney Lynn Trower. Larry is preceded in death by his father, William Dennis; and his brother, John Dennis. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 31st, 2018 (10:00 am) at Sutter County Airport, 100 Airport Road, Yuba City in the Miller Aviation Hanger.
