Laura Smith Davies

Laura Smith Davies, 70, of Fairview, passed away on January 31, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. Laura was born on January 7, 1952 to Arthur and Nellie Smith in Portland. After graduating from Parkrose in 1970, she went on to study business at Portland State University. She landed her first job working for the Hindquarter Corporation kicking off a career in restaurant management including managing the Medieval Inn in downtown Portland. Later she went on to attain her nursing degree and worked for Providence Portland Medical Center as a Registered Nurse for over 20 years retiring in 2012. In 1980, she met Patrick Davies, and they wed in the following year 1981, going on to have one child John Patrick Davies. After retiring in 2012, Laura spent her time traveling, researching family ancestry, scrapbooking, gardening and spending time with the joy of her life her granddaughter Hannah. Laura was predeceased by both her parents, sister Sharron and brother Arthur. She is survived by husband Pat Davies, son John Davies, daughter in law Kara Davies, granddaughter Hannah Davies and lifelong friend Ceseley Kathrens. No services are planned at this time.
