Lawrence "Larry" Henry Pohlman
June 10th, 1953 - October 9th, 2011
LAWRENCE "LARRY" H. POHLMAN age 58 of Fort Atkinson formerly of Jefferson passed away Sunday October 9, 2011 at his home. He was born on June 10, 1953 in Watertown, Wisconsin son of the late Henry and Margaret (Weber) Pohlman. Larry was raised on the family farm and enjoyed the farm life and was a true farmer at heart. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Larry was employed at General Motors in Janesville for 30 years, retiring in 2003. He also worked at Briggs and Stratton for six years. He was a member of the UAW Local 95. He enjoyed traveling, was an avid hunter, and shared his love for hunting with his 3 boys; he especially enjoyed teaching them how to hunt as well. Larry had a true passion for sports. He especially loved to watch football with his friends, and was a devoted Packer fan. Another one of his favorite past times included playing his luck at the casino. He will be deeply missed by his family; Sons; Carl (Karla) Pohlman of Barneveld, Larry Pohlman of Jefferson Daughter; Laurie (Mike) Goffard of Neenah. Grandchildren; Jadon, Isabel, Makinley, Gregory, Mitchell, Randalyn, Jackson His girlfriend of 12 years Debra Findlay of Fort Atkinson Sisters; Bev Winter of Watertown, Marlene Cissa of Johnson Creek, Joanne (Roger) Gross of Fort Atkinson, Pat Zupet of Johnson Creek. Brothers; Gerald Pohlman of Janesville, Frederick "Fritz" Pohlman of Watertown, Franklin "Bobby" Pohlman of Jefferson. Many nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Ben Pohlman, and sister Rose Gottschalk. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday October 13, 2011 at 12:00 noon at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating burial with Military Rites will follow in the Parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson and then again on Thursday morning at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass On line condolences may be made at www.schneidermichaelisfuneralhome.com
