Lorna J. Smith of Winter Haven, Florida passed away on August 18, 2017. She was 89. Lorna was born on March 20, 1928 in Essex, Maryland to Robert Milton and Vivian Beach Gerber and moved here in 1989 from Rehoboth, Delaware. Lorna was an honor roll student for 7 consecutive quarters at Patterson Park High School in Baltimore, Maryland. She worked as a keypunch operater for Western Electric in Baltimore, Maryland, a member of the First Christian Church in Haines City, Florida as well as past Queen of the Order of Easten Star, Zita Temple. In her spare time she enjoyed singing, dancing and doing crossword puzzles. She was predeceased by her sister, Nadine Dorrett and she is survived by her sons, Tony Bond of Joppatowne, Maryland, Eric "Ric" Bond of Winter Haven, Florida; sister, Neva O'Hara of Berlin, Maryland and her four legged friend, Mr. Fenway. A celebration of life service will be Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 10:00 am at Faith Lutheran Church, Haines City. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church PO Box 1938 Haines City, Florida 33845.
