none Buddy Mallory, 74, went to be with his Lord and Savior September 18th, 2004 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. By his side until the very end was his loving wife, Jerry Mallory. Buddy was born in El Paso, Texas, November 19, 1928 to Samuel and Edith Mallory. He attended Ysleta High School and graduated from El Paso Technical HS in 1947. He and Jerry were members of Jesus Chapel East for over 20 years, before moving to Washington State in 1994, where they have resided since. In his early years, Buddy raced roadsters and motorcycles, winning many trophies. He worked for American Airlines and Standard Oil Refinery. In 1964, he started the Dirt Dobber Company, a dirt construction business. In the late 70’s, he and Jerry decided it was time to branch out again, and they went into the skating rink business, eventually owning 2 rinks and a restaurant, The Family Skate Center on the Westside of El Paso. In 1994, Buddy and Jerry left Texas driving the beautiful motor home Buddy had spent a year refurbishing from a diesel bus into a lovely home with a classy country décor, with help from his head designer and decorator, Jerry. They settled in the northwest near their 2 daughters, where they resided the next 10 years. Buddy’s other loves in life were his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Buddy leaves behind his wife and best friend of 51 years, Jerry Ingram Mallory of Yelm, WA. He is also survived by his 4 children, Patrick (Paula) Mallory of Dallas, TX; Terriann (Cliff) Hawkeswood of Olympia, WA; Samuel (Laura) Mallory of Ballinger, TX; and Kathleen (Scott) Baillie of Renton, WA. He was the proud grandfather to his 4 grandchildren, Tiffany and Tamara Hawkeswood of Olympia, WA and Jacob and Hannah Mallory of Ballinger, TX. Arrangements by Funeral Alternatives of WA, 360.753.1065. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 22 at 2:00pm, at New Life Christian Center, 13036 Morris Rd SE, Yelm, WA.
