Louis Arnold Rehberger Jr., 89, of Centennial, Colorado, was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, June 15, 2013. Lou was born to the late Louis Arnold and Ethyl Lavinia (nee Ford) Rehberger in Camden, New Jersey. A graduate of Haddon Heights High School, he attended Drexel University before enlisting in the U.S. Army during World War II. Lou married Wilma Elsie Buxton of Denver in 1945. After serving in the Army Air Corps stateside and piloting B-29s in the Pacific Theatre, he earned his Engineering Degree from the University of Denver. He and Wilma returned to Lou’s hometown Barrington, New Jersey, where they raised their family, and Lou began his long career as an engineer with Rohm and Haas in Bristol, Pennsylvania (and subsequently around the world). Before retiring from Rohm and Haas as a senior engineer, in his more than 35 years he worked in Bristol, Houston, Galveston, Louisville, Knoxville, Scranton, as well as England, Japan, Taiwan, and Brazil. His joy came from his family, raising his children, serving in Barrington’s First Presbyterian Church, traveling, and photography. He was equally pleased with being an honorary Kentucky Colonel as earning his State of Texas Certified and Registered Professional Engineer certificate. Introduced to computers in the workplace, he made his first home computer, a “Commodore Pet” computer, do things the experts said it couldn’t do, and then in later life he became a PC enthusiast. Watching the many different birds dine at his feeders, enjoying relatives in Colorado, and keeping in touch via e-mail were his favorite pastimes. Lou was preceded in death by his bother Phillip, and survived by his wife of 68 years Wilma; brother David of Sebring, FL; three children and their families: Janet (Bruce Batky), of Greenwood Village, CO; Alan (Patricia), of Tabernacle, NJ; and Louis (Pat), of Vista, CA.; seven grandchildren: Blair, Evan, Ann-Marie, Donny, Alan René, Caroline, and Robert; and dozens of nieces, nephews, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that memorial donations be made to your local house of worship. Services will be held 12:30 P.M., Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado (using the North Gate, go to Staging Area “B” by 12:25 P.M.).
