Louis Shaw
October 12th, 1943 - May 31st, 2011
Louis C. Shaw III was born in Galveston, TX, October 12, 1943 to Louis C. Shaw Jr. and Ruby Lee Dehart Shaw. He was the second eldest of seven children. The family moved to Oakland, CA in 1944 where he received his primary education graduating from McClymonds High School in 1961. He continued his education in Great Falls, MT where he received a BA degree and Masters in Human Services with an emphasis on chemical dependency with honors. Louis enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1966 where he served 8 years and transferred to the U.S. Army as a Military Police for an additional 15 years. After 23 years of honorable service, he retired. Later he was employed by the U.S. Army and Air Force serving the Army Community Service and the Transition Assistance Program. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and older sister, Aurora Semien. He leaves to mourn one daughter Yemin Kim Adams, son-in-law Joshua Adams, three grandchildren, Tehyah, Kiennes, and Jynessa of Littleton, Colorado. One son, Chi-Ung Kim of Beijing, China. Brother-in-law, John Semien of Shingle Springs, CA. Three brothers, Dehart Shaw of Oakland, CA, James P. Shaw (Estelle) of Vallejo, CA, and Bernard E. Shaw (Sheila) of Vallejo, CA. Two sisters, Ruby L. Delph (Thomas) of Oakland, CA and Bernadette Hersey (James) of Stockton, CA. One aunt Gladys Thomas of Modesto, CA. Five nieces, seven nephews, and eleven great nieces and nephews. He was deeply loved and will be truly missed by all. Posted by All Veterans Funeral & Cremation.
