WEST COLUMBIA - A private funeral service will be held for Louise Padgett Koon, 87, in Southland Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Nancy K. Perry Children""'s Shelter, P.O. Box 344, Lexington, SC 29071. The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. Sunday at the residence of her son, Mike Koon, 815 """N""" Avenue, Cayce, SC 29033. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is assisting the family. Mrs. Koon, widow of R. Franklin Koon, died Friday, September 3, 2010. Born in Saluda, SC, she was a daughter of the late Mose W. Padgett and Bessie Lou Johnson Padgett. Surviving are her sons, Larry Koon of Spartanburg, Teddy Koon (Becky) of Lexington, and Mike Koon (Joni) of Cayce; sister, Lois Coleman of Montgomery, AL; four grandchildren, Missy Addy, Joey Koon, Stacie Collins and Pat Boozer; nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Koon was preceded in death by a grandson, Ashley Boozer. Family and friends may sign the on-line guest book at: www.thompsonsfuneral.com.
