Marcia Schaffer, 97, passed away December 23, 2021 in Rotonda West. She was born December 7, 1924 in Albany, New York to the late Morris Goldstein and Eva Yaguda-Goldstein. Marcia received her BA from NYU and her Master's in Education from Hofstra University. She served as a research biologist in the 1940's. She then transitioned into elementary education where she spent the rest of her career as an elementary science and English teacher. She was also a Literacy Volunteer for many years. Survivors include her son, Justin Andrew ""Andy"" Schaffer and wife, Mary, daughter, Meryl Susan Schaffer and husband, JeanPaul Jenack, two grandsons, Julius Ian Schaffer and wife, Stephanie, and Evan Morgan Schaffer as well as two great grandchildren, Samara and Margo. Graveside services will be Monday December 27, 2021 at Venice Memorial Gardens under the direction of Farley Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital (stjude.org/donate)
