Marjorie left this world to be with her Lord on November 29, 2013 at the age of 84. She fought the effects of a stroke for 10 days before leaving us to be with God. Marjorie was born January 19, 1929 in Florence, Arizona to Franklin and Frances (Wrenn) Spooner. She graduated high school and attended college in Bremerton, Washington. Over the years, she lived in Bremerton and Bellevue, Washington, and Rancho Carlsbad, California, before moving to Lacey, Washington in 2006. Marjorie married Lawrence Johnson on October 14, 1989 in Bellevue. Her first husband, Emil Headland, preceded her in death in December 1987. Marjorie worked as a bookkeeper for Capitol Records in Seattle and for Gossard Lumber in Redmond, Washington. She was active with the Gamma Beta Philanthropic Sorority. Surviving are her husband, Lawrence “Larry” Johnson; three sons, John Headland of Bellevue, David Headland of Bellevue, and Scott Headland of Roseville, California; daughter, Joan Haffey of El Cajon, California; sister, Marilyn Mantzke of Bremerton; and five grandchildren. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Providence St. Peter Foundation, 413 Lilly Road N.E., Olympia, WA 98506-5100.
