Mary B. Beatty Mary, an 84-year resident of Olympia, Washington, passed away on February 17, 2013, at the age of 91. She was born July 5, 1921 to Joe and Freida (Block) Josephson in Seattle, Washington. She married Oliver G. Beatty in Kelso, Washington. Mary was a happy, active woman who loved life, her family, and all her many friends. She worked for the State of Washington and at Sears, and enjoyed sporting events. She was a member of the Olympia Golf and Country Club, Capitol City Golf Club, Red Hat Group, and numerous card groups. She also was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for 59 years, achieving the degree of Torchbearer. She is survived by sons, Donald A. Beatty (Paula), and Richard O. Beatty (Connie); daughter, Marilyn Bryan (Michael); 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Oliver (in 2003); brothers, Milton Josephson and Eli Josephson; and sister, Evelyn (Pickles) Wiviott. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 25, 2013, at South Sound Manor, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA 98501. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
