Mary Ann Cosenza, 59, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away on September 30, 2014 at home from complications due to cancer. Mary Ann was born July 13, 1955 to Edward and Veronica Doyle in Brooklyn, NY. She married her high school sweetheart, Jack Cosenza, on August 9, 1975. Shortly after their wedding, they moved to Port Charlotte, where their children were born and raised. Mary Ann worked in the Charlotte County Public School system for nearly 30 years. She enjoyed traveling, taking cruises, going to the local casinos, and cooking for her large Italian family. Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Jack; her sons, John Aloysuis Cosenza II (Justin) of New York City and James Edward Cosenza (Melissa) of Port Charlotte; and her first granddaughter due in March. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 2, 2014 from 6-8:00PM and on Friday, October 3, 2014 from 5-7:00PM at Paul Schelm Funeral Home, 12687 SW County Road 769 (Kings Highway) in Lake Suzy. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11:00AM on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at San Antonio Catholic Church, 24445 Rampart Boulevard in Port Charlotte.
