Mary E. Eppley, 76 of Venice, FL and formerly of Hebron, OH passed away Friday, December 8, 2023 at Siesta Key Health & Rehabilitation Center in Sarasota, FL. Mary was born on December 19, 1946 in Gordo, Alabama to the late Jasper King and Mammie (Hicks) King. Mary attended Muncie Central High School in Muncie, IN. Mary was an Ohio Licensed/Certified Nurseryman and she worked at Lowes Stores in Heath, OH & Cape Coral, FL as the Lawn & Garden Manager until her retirement. She enjoyed time at the beach, reading and attending to her flowers until she lost her health. She is survived by her husband Jim of Venice, FL; son Steve (Shannon) Burke of Heath OH; grandchildren Joshua Abrams, Alex Burke, Evan Burke and Loren Burke. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews, two brothers and a sister. Her in-laws Carol and Jim Eppley whom she loved dearly. Great friends Don and Shirley Funk, Delbert Osborn and Jane Hatten. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Debbie Abrams and foster daughter Patti Heck, three brothers and two sisters. In lieu of flowers, plant some flowers in your yard and then sit down and have a tall cold adult beverage in Mary’s memory. Jim would also like to offer a sincere Thank You to all of the great staff at Siesta Key for everything they did to care for Mary over the past 8 months. You folks are Angels from God. At Mary’s request, no services will be observed.
