Mary Hegg

Mary Eileen Hegg (Danielson), 74, passed away on September 10, 2018. She will continue to be cherished in our hearts and remembered fondly for the times we shared with her. She is survived by her daughters Amy (Jeff) Steffen and Lara (Roger) McCormick, grandchildren Taylor (Nathan) Burdick, Bailey Steffen, Mark McCormick and Ian McCormick and brother Richard (Cindy) Danielson and many nieces and nephews. Mary was born to Alfred and Esther Danielson in East Grand Forks, Minnesota on October 28, 1943. As a youngster Mary lived on a farm with her family and helped in many capacities with gardening, farming, caring for animals and household chores. She participated in 4-H and loved a good game of pick-up softball. She went to East High School where she was a cheerleader and in the homecoming court. She later attended Moorhead State to study home economics. Mary discovered a love for art and was an accomplished decorative painter and wood carver. Mary was honored to be chosen to receive her Certified Decorative Artist designation in 1986 and was published in Decorative Artist magazine for her unique art designs. Mary’s art allowed her to travel to many different states to teach art classes, and she enjoyed the challenge and friendships that brought her. Other things Mary enjoyed were fishing, gardening and her flower beds, studying birds and nature, cooking, arts and crafts, decorating, and the company of family and friends.
