January 3rd, 1923 - December 5th, 2012
Key, Mary Redington 89, a native and lifelong resident of St. Petersburg, passed away peacefully Dec 5, 2012, at home surrounded by her loving family and devoted caregivers. Mary was born on Jan 3, 1923, the youngest daughter of Charles E. and Hazel A. Redington. After graduating from St. Petersburg High School in 1940, she briefly worked for the U.S. Gov't in Washington, DC. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas H. "Tommy" Key, and her sisters, Louise Volkmar and Helen Wolf. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard G. Key; daughter, Susie (Danny) Fennell; two grandsons and a great-granddaughter; and brothers, Charles and Jack Redington. A gathering will be held from 10:30am until memorial service time at 11am on Saturday, Dec. 15th at Anderson McQueen, 2201 Dr. MLK St. N. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to CASA of St. Pete (www.casa-stpete.org).
