Mary Helen Mickel passed away on May 4, 2022 at her home in Eugene at the age of 92. She was born September 18, 1929 in Rock Lake North Dakota to Thomas and Verna Wildish and was the 9th of 12 children. She graduated from Eugene HS and completed 2 yrs of college at UO. She married Leonard (Mike) Mickel in April 1950. In the late 60’s, after raising four children, she began her 20 year career working at 4J School District as a secretary. Her interests included family/homemaking, gardening, reading, traveling, sewing, knitting and attending the symphony. Her husband preceded her in death in 2017. She is survived by her 4 children; David (Ardie) Mickel, Tom (Allison) Mickel, Nancy (Keith) Laxton, Barbara (Rocky) Miner, 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Peace Health Sacred Heart Hospice, 677 E 12th Ave, Suite N110, Eugene Or 97401. A service will be held at Musgrove's (225 S Danebo Ave Eugene, OR 97402) on Sunday June 5, 2022 @ 2pm.
