Matt passed away from a tragic accident on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 in San Jose, California. Matt was born December 4, 1979, in Eugene, Oregon to Steve and Jacklyn Phillips (Ingram). Matt married Lisa Ross on August 31, 2007. Matt was preceded in death by his brother Scott Phillips, grandfathers Tommy Allen and George Phillips. Surviving is his wife Lisa, two daughters Ava and Ashley, son George, mother Jacklyn Ingram, step-father Gary Ingram, father Steve Phillips, step-mother Nancy Phillips, sister Tawnia Knox-Folman, brothers Scott Knox, Christopher Freel, Travis Ingram and Jeff Ingram. Matt was a loving father, husband and son. There isn't anything he wouldn't do for his family and friends. Matt put his whole heart & soul into his family & his friends. Matt was honest, loyal, & fun-loving. He was always smiling. Matt loved rafting, fishing, hunting, camping, antique cars & just hanging with family & friends. Matt will be greatly missed. Matt was employed by the railroad for 10 years & put his heart & soul into his work. Matt was innovative & had excellent work ethics and a positive personality. He will be greatly missed by his railroad brotherhood. A graveside service will be held at Lane Memorial Gardens at 5300 W 11th Ave Eugene, Oregon on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at 2:30pm. The graveside service will be followed by an open house at the funeral home to share memories of Matt. Donations can be made to the family through gofundme.
