April 2nd, time is 3PM.Michael Alan Ahearn, who commonly preferred to go by Mike (or PopPop to his grandchildren), was born 9/10/65 in Hillsboro, Oregon and spent the last half of his life with his wife and children in Spanaway, Wa. Mike is survived by his parents, Alan and Glenda Ahearn, as well as his three siblings and their spouses: Lura Hawkins and her husband Lester Hawkins, Colleen Zobel and her husband Jean-Christophe Zobel, and Drew Ahearn and his wife Cari Ahearn. Mike shared a twenty-one year marriage with his loving partner, Susan K Ahearn, and their combined family consists of four daughters: Jennifer Jensen, Sherri Jensen, Stefanie Ahearn and Brenna Ahearn. One of lifes greatest accomplishments for Mike was becoming a grandfather, and he is survived by four grandchildren: Connor Power, Abigail Power, Ethan Power and Rowan Woodham. After a short stint in the Army, one of Mikes lifelong passions was our Armed Forces. As a Civil Service Worker Mechanic at LSI on (what is now) Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Mike got to put his passion into service and worked diligently on our Armys Humvee vehicles. He had a collection of military memorabilia and loved spending time in the outdoors camping or hunting with one of his grandchildren. Mike was a proficient vehicle mechanic and could often be found by family and friends underneath the hood of a loved ones car. Mike is best known for his witty humor and caring heart. There is not much he wouldnt do for someone he cared about...the best example of this is his collection of animals over the years that one of his daughters had ventured to save. After the initial grumbling and protestation when a new furry friend would arrive, Mike was usually the one who quickly fell in love with the animal. At the time of his passing he had three pets that were left as one of his daughters rescuing: his dog, Lennon and two cats, Bonnie and Max. Please join our family in celebrating the life of Mike Ahearn. Loving son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, friend. As a spiritual man who found peace in his passing by his love for God, we will join together at the church he was a member of: Evergreen Christian Community (ECC) 1000 Black Lake Blvd SW, Olympia, WA 98502 Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 3:00PM There will be a service followed by a reception at the same location In lieu of flowers, monies are being collected by the family to support medical expenses
