MICHAEL JAMES CASCIO, 70, of North Port, Florida formerly of Rockford, Illinois passed away peacefully on Friday October 7, 2011 at Venice Regional Medical Center. Born on November 7, 1940 in Rockford, he had served in the U.S. Navy. A travel consultant, he had been a resident of Florida for thirty seven years. He was a member of Voices of LaCasa and had been a Cantor and communicant of St. Raphael Catholic Church. Survivors include his dear companion of twenty-eight years: Earl L. Marsh of North Port, FL; one daughter: Clarice A. Cascio-Amato of Simi Valley, CA; one sister: Marie Fiordelisi of LaDue, MO; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass was held on Monday, October 10, 2011. Inurnment will be in Sarasota National Cemetery. Englewood Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been selected to handle arrangements.
