Michael James Hill

Michael J. Hill, 93, of Silver Springs, Florida, died Friday, June 7, 2013. He was born to the late Charles Hill and Elizabeth Rothstein Hill, February 12, 1920 in Bayonne, NJ. He was the last surviving sibling out of 13. At a very early age, he entered the Army and made it his career and family. He was honorably discharged as a Staff Sargeant in June 1, 1965. After leaving the army, he specialized in security jobs at different companies in New Jersey which was home at the time. He eventually retired to Silver Springs, Florida where he lived until he recently moved to Melbourne, FL four months ago. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and an active member of VFW Post in Bellevielle and Ocala, Florida. He enjoyed traveling and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Maria Hill, and step-daughter, Claudia Black, (Tom), grandchildren, nieces, family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 1252 Highway A1A, Satellite Beach, FL 32937. A memorial mass is scheduled at Ascension Catholic Church, for Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 12:00 noon.
