Michael Joseph Huston

Michael Joseph Huston passed away on July 31, 2024 in his hometown of Eugene, OR. He was born on April 20, 1994. Michael was an old soul with a young heart, who loved his family and friends deeply, and put others before himself. 

Michael attended O'Hara Catholic School, followed by Marist Catholic High School, class of 2012. He lettered in cross country, inspired by the great Steve Prefontaine. Michael wore many hats throughout his working career and connected with colleagues and customers through his humor and unique ability to empathize with others. Michael was a lifetime fan of the Oregon Ducks and Seattle Mariners. He loved listening to music, especially the Grateful Dead, and experiencing bands live. He was a movie buff who appreciated a film whether it was good, bad, or ugly. The worlds of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings were particular passions. 

Michael cared for his family and friends deeply. He is survived by his loving parents, Annette and John Huston; his brother, Danny Huston and his wife Sarah; his sister, Rachel Kerns and her husband Connor; his soulmate, Neekie Surian; his loving nieces and nephews, Evan and Erin Huston, Audrey and Natalie Kerns, and little Liam Kerns; Godparents Janice and Patrick Hoonhout; GGma Laura King, and extended family and close friends who love him very much. 

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Monday, August 19th at 12pm at St.Mary Catholic Church, located at 1062 Charnelton St, Eugene, OR 97401. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cahoots, and you can share a picture or note for the memory board at the service. Rest in peace, Michael. Your laughter and love will continue to resonate in the lives of all who knew you.
