Michael John LaBar It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Michael J. LaBar of Rotonda West, Florida on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Tidewell Hospice in Englewood, Florida at the age of 63. Mike was born on August 31, 1954 to Francis and Carole LaBar. The cherished husband of Cynthia LaBar (nee Brandebura); wonderful father to Benjiman LaBar and incredible grandfather to his two grandchildren Rayne and Reeve LaBar. He was a loving brother to Susan, Timothy and Stephen as well as an uncle to a number of nieces and nephews. Mike is survived by many friends and loved ones. Mike was a well-respected business owner of Mike LaBar Pool Service which he owned and operated for 37 years. He was an Exalted Ruler for the Rotonda Elks Lodge; a Past President of the Englewood Lions Club and a member of the Sons of the American Legion. Mike was an avid music enthusiast and could name just about any song playing at any time. He also loved dogs, especially his pitbull mix, Karma. A loving family man, Mike enjoyed having a glass of wine and listening to music with his wife and watching football with her on Sundays. He loved his trips to Canada to see his son and grandchildren. Mike would spend hours playing with his grandchildren building spaceships out of card board boxes and taking them to the park. He will be dearly missed. A Funeral Mass will be said on Monday August 27, 2018 at 9:30 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 5265 Placida Road, Grove City, Florida 34224.
