Michael James McCoy
November 6th, 1981 - July 19th, 2021
Father and lover of life Michael McCoy's journey did not come to an end with his passing. Surrounded by those he loved and those he called friends, Mike passed away on July 19, 2021 at the age of 39 after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Michael was born in Heilbronn, Germany on November 6th, 1981 where, as a military brat, he was able to explore the world and the United States. As he grew, he lived in the moment and learned many, many life lessons. Michael's military childhood and great love of country led him to follow in the footsteps of his parents where he enlisted in the Army in 2001. Michael, served as a military police officer, achieving the rank of Sergeant. Mike completed two tours in Iraq; he fought so that others might be free and taught both local men and women policing tactics. Michael's passion for the law continued as he served in both Idaho and Oregon as a Correctional Officer. Michael's greatest pride was his children. He spoke proudly and often of their achievements and his deep love for them. Ever the optimist, Michael always had a dream up his sleeve and a hope for the future. He loved adventure, trying new things, and the bonds of friendship. Michael is survived by his fiance, Brye, his children, Gabrielle, Ethan, and Collin, his parents Jim and Leslie McCoy, his sister, Beth and her family. Honor Michael's legacy by living life to the fullest, loving deeply, and taking care of the ones you love. Michael's funeral service will take place Saturday, July 31st at 11:00am at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 900 NW 7th St Fruitland, ID 83619. Service Details.
