Gilbert- Mildred A. 92 of Bradenton, formerly of St. Petersburg passed away peacefully August 31, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Charles F. Gilbert. Her first husband John M. Young was killed during World War II while serving in the Navy. She came here in 1965 from Long Island NY. and moved to Bradenton two years ago to be closer to her daughter. They lived in New Port Richey before settling in St. Petersburg. She grew up in Queens NY and worked at Grumman Aircraft during World War II. After retirement, she and her husband were members of the US Coast Guard Flotilla #716 in Gulfport and the Czechlovakian-American Hall. She is survived by her son Roy Gilbert and his wife Kathy; daughter Gail Straight and husband Ed; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Cryptside services will be 10AM Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007 at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, Largo. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Tidewell Hospice, 3355 26th St. W.; Bradenton FL 34205. Service Information
