Mildred Clark Hersey
May 4th, 1909 - July 9th, 2000
Hersey, Mildred Clark, 91, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday July 9, 2000 at College Harbor Retirement Center. She was born and raised in Craig, Nebraska and earned an A.B. degree at Nebraska State Teachers College in Wayne, Nebraska, and a M.B.A. at the University of Chicago. She taught business courses at high schools in Nebraska, Michigan and Illinois and college level business courses at Bixby Business College and the University of South Florida. She came here in 1963 from Elmhurst, IL. She was a member of the Garden Crest Presbyterian Church in St. Petersburg, the Professional Education Organization PEO and the Eastern Star. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Hersey Ogilvie, and son-in-law, Ian, of Miller Place, NY; and daughter, Marilyn Hersey Brown, of Columbus, OH; two nieces: Bernadine Clark Jackson, and her husband, Jerry, of Alamo, CA; and Elizabeth Clark Meyer and her husband, William of, Menlo Park, CA; four grandchildren: Paul Brown, Marengo, OH; Elizabeth Brown Hutchison and her husband, Jeffrey, of Hermitage, PA; Alexander Ogilvie and his wife, Alicia,of St. Louis, MO; and Christopher Ogilvie, Alexandria, VA; and three great grandchildren, Ashley, Zachary and Hunter Hutchison. The memorial service at College Harbor Retirement Center will have Pastor Tom Greene officiating. A private grave side service will be held at the Craig Cemetery in Craig, Nebraska, where her parents, brother and other family memebers are buried. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Garden Crest Presbyterian Church, Tyrone Blvd. at 9th Avenue North, in St. Petersburg, FL.
