Nancy J Pratt

Nancy J. Pratt, age 86, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully on August 6, 2024, at her home in Mukilteo. 

She was born in Spokane, Washington on December 3, 1937. Growing up, Nancy’s family moved often to follow her father’s work as a crane operator building bridges. Nancy attended five different grade schools.  She graduated from Seattle’s Queen Anne High School at the age of 16 and then went to work at Traveler’s Insurance Company.   

In June of 1958, she married her best friend and the love of her life Bruce (Bud) Pratt.  They were married for 66 wonderful years.   They were blessed with two children, Tami and Ken. 

While raising their family in Mountlake Terrace, Nancy was a member of the PTA and an active parent in Brownies and Cub Scouts.  Nancy was a loving mother and enjoyed watching her kids play sports and attending their various activities.  Nancy also enjoyed decorating special cakes for her kids’ birthdays.  While her family was young, Nancy worked from home typing insurance policies. Later, she worked as an administrative assistant in both the legal and medical fields.   

In 1989 Bud and Nancy moved to Mukilteo.  For many years, they enjoyed spending time at their beach house on Whidbey Island, crabbing and fishing, having bonfires by the beach and mingling with their friends and neighbors.   Nancy LOVED watching football and was an avid Seahawk Fan, she also enjoyed watching the Mariners.  

We will always remember her fun, loving spirit and her laughter.  She will be missed dearly and will always be in our hearts.  She is survived by her husband Bruce, their two children Tami (Jeff) Austin, Ken Pratt and her Grandson, Ryan Austin.
